There are 7 kinds of interior door manufacturing:

  • Panel doors,
  • Melamine doors
  • PVC doors,
  • Lacquer doors,
  • Wood veneer doors,
  • Laminate doors
  • Composite doors.
These are the most common interior doors in Turkey. The most preferred ones are American, melamine, composite, and lacquer doors. The American doors are mass-produced, easily installed, and cheap, which makes these most preferred between them. The composite doors are water-proof and well-isolated which makes these preferred for wet-floored places like toilets and bathrooms.
Interior doors are produced by using the MDF surface coated with different materials. The American panel door surface is made of painted HDF (3.2 mm). The melamine door is manufactured using a 4 mm MDF surface with melamine coating. PVC door is obtained by gluing PVC foil on 4 mm or 6 mm MDF in the membrane device. The lacquer door surface consists of 6 mm MDF with primer and sandpaper followed by polyurethane paint. In the production of wood veneer doors, a 6 mm MDF surface with natural wood veneer is used. The laminate door is obtained by applying a laminate coating on 4 mm MDF.
The main materials used in the production of room doors are; wood, paper honeycomb, wire punch, raw or coated MDF and HDF, glue, edge band, paint, and varnish types and winding material (wood, melamine, PP, PVC, and micro laminate). The inner frame of the wing is formed by using finger joint bushes obtained from spruce or fir. Additional coils are used to strengthen the lock and hinge areas. The bushes are joined using a wire punch, and the inside of the flap is coated with a paper honeycomb filler which provides light and pressure resistance.
The MDF layer forming the surface of the wing has adhered to the mainframe in a hot or cold press. MDF surface types are available in wood veneer, PVC, melamine, laminate, and lacquer. Painted HDF is used as the American panel door surface. Edge banding is done according to the model of the door. The main material of the door frame consists of 3 laminated MDF (36 mm) or 2 MDF and a sandwich panel (42 mm) obtained from a solid layer. Door moldings are available in three different thicknesses: 9-12-18 mm MDF. The casing and moldings are wrapped with material matching the wing surface coating.
